Change wallet password

Changing a Best Wallet password re-encrypts the local wallet file; it does not change the wallet seed, address, or funds. Use a unique password generated by a trusted password manager and keep your recovery seed stored separately.

Change the wallet-file password

  1. Open the wallet settings or File menu and choose the password option.
  2. Enter the current wallet password to authorize the change.
  3. Create and confirm a strong, unique replacement password.
  4. Save the new password in your password manager before closing the dialog.
  5. Close and reopen the wallet to confirm the new password works.
