Create a view-only wallet

A view-only wallet can monitor incoming Monero without holding spend authority. Create it with the wallet’s primary address and private view key, then remember that outgoing activity may require imported key images before the displayed balance is complete.

Create a view-only wallet

  1. Open File → New/Restore and choose the view-only wallet option.
  2. Enter the primary address from the wallet you want to monitor.
  3. Enter the private view key through the local Best Wallet dialog; never paste it into a website.
  4. Choose a wallet name, storage location, and local encryption password.
  5. Allow the wallet to synchronize fully before judging its balance or transaction history.
