Enable portable mode

Portable mode stores Best Wallet data beside the executable instead of the normal operating-system data directory. Use it only on an encrypted, trusted drive and understand that anyone who obtains the folder may obtain sensitive wallet files.

Turn on portable mode

  1. Close Best Wallet and create a backup of the wallet file and seed before changing its storage behavior.
  2. Move the Best Wallet executable to the folder or removable drive you intend to use.
  3. Create an empty file named .portable or .portable.txt in the same folder as the executable.
  4. Start Best Wallet and confirm that its data directory is now relative to that folder.
  5. Keep the drive encrypted, eject it safely, and never leave it connected to an untrusted computer.
