Prove ownership of address

Best Wallet can prove control of a Monero address by signing a message with the address’s spend authority. The signature demonstrates control at the time of signing; it does not transfer funds or prove that a person owns an identity.

Sign an ownership message

  1. Open the address ownership or message-signing tool.
  2. Select the address you want to prove control of and enter the exact message requested by the other party.
  3. Review the message carefully because the signature is tied to its exact characters.
  4. Sign the message and share the address, original message, and signature through a suitable channel.
  5. The verifier should use Best Wallet or a trusted Monero verification tool to check the three values together.
